TEDxTalks: Why some of us don’t have one true calling
I believe I’m one of the people who was not destined to have one true calling. How do I know for sure? I don’t. All I know is that I have a gazillion thoughts running through my head each day. I want to do and be so many things all at once. But I only have one body and only one life. Of course, I can’t do every single one of my aspirations in life. Maybe just bits and pieces, more like. So let me ask you this: are you like me, too?
What do you want to be when you grow up? Well, if you’re not sure you want to do just one thing for the rest of your life, you’re not alone. In this illuminating talk, writer and artist Emilie Wapnick describes the kind of people she calls “multipotentialites” — who have a range of interests and jobs over one lifetime. Are you one?
