“You should be spending as much time doing your skincare routine as you would do your makeup.”
I don’t know who said that or if that’s a real quote, but I read that somewhere.
Anyway, let me tell you something about myself. I love makeup. I love playing with makeup. I love discovering the different ways that I can experiment with colors while making myself look pretty. Men will never get it, but I’m sure some of us consider makeup as art.
It allows you to change how you look, to change the shape of your face, to create features that were never there before (faux moles, faux freckles, thick brows, pointed nose, etc.).
As much as I like playing with makeup, I’ve also recently discovered the beauty of skincare. You probably read before somewhere in one of my blog posts or tweets that I never had any skincare routine. Now that I have a nighttime skincare routine, it has changed my game face (literally) for good. Now I don’t feel the need to pack my face with different products to conceal whatever there is to. I’m slowly learning to love my au naturale skin more and more.
Several times I’ve uploaded photos of my makeup/skincare haul online, and my number 1 go-to website is BeautyMNL. Preach, sister. So when Den of BeautyMNL approached me to run a test on the website, I had to say yes. I was actually stopping myself from buying any more makeup/skincare products, but I still have slip ups every now and then. Hehe.
I bought a bunch of stuff I’ve been itching to have but still haven’t gotten a hold of. Perhaps a month-old belated birthday gift. Ok, fine, I’m gonna find even the pettiest reason to buy makeup.
When I saw this eyeshadow palette, I knew it was the one. It was compact, it had a variety of colors, and it was cheap, something that I always go for. LOL. What really got me was the peach eyeshadow, something I’ve been wanting recently. I think I’m ready to try out bolder colors on my face. What do you think of this palette? Yay or nay?
I’ve known about Everyday Love+’s nude lipsticks since way back and I never saw BeautyMNL having them in stock, so this was a nice surprise. I actually wanted this liquid lipstick for my birthday but I was prioritizing skincare products so I just put it in my wishlist temporarily. I got the No. 2 shade, which looked peachy on others. Wrong move, it washed me out. But a more lengthy review on this soon!
I was running low on foundations and I needed a new one ASAP. Besides, the ones I have are either low-quality or are the wrong shade for me at the moment (I tan easily). This one’s promising, though. I’m gonna make a review on this, too! It’s a huge plus that this one’s apparently new in the market. I’m so outdated. LOL.
The masks are for my nightly skincare routine. I’m hoping the green tea would be cool on the face like cucumber face masks, or at least for it to smell nice. I’m a huge fan of the green tea flavor. Wouldn’t hurt to put it on my face for a change. 😛
And they say anything from the ground is a skincare must have (clay, volcanic ash, mud) so we’ll see about that!
I’ve always had a hard time putting on makeup because of my bangs. I would always bend my neck to get to the parts my hair would often cover like my forehead and temples. Turns out I only needed hair velcro! These are cheap yet they work fine. I was actually amazed when I tried them on the first time!
I don’t really have much to say about BeautyMNL other than they have superb customer service. Their next-day delivery service is such a huge plus especially considering that us women get itchy hands right after making our orders. Haha, amirite, ladies? You know the feeling – you get so giddy to receive your parcel and once it arrives, it feels like White Christmas even on a hot Thursday afternoon.
I’m a very impulsive person (when I’m not being indecisive) but before I click on that “checkout” button, I make sure I’m getting my money’s worth. I often read BeautyMNL’s Bloom magazine to check out what’s hot and what’s not. I also follow them on Twitter, which actually pushed me to check out Pink Sugar’s new line of nude lipsticks (I bought Breakfast in Bed, and it’s the best MLBB lipstick in my purse right now #NoRagrets).
Beauty By You
To be honest, that section in their website helped me a lot in distinguishing my personal makeup/skincare dos and don’ts. It also helped me save cash by opting for drugstore products that are actually of good quality. More, you know the reviews are legitimate because they’re honest product reviews by real-life customers.
If you’re someone who’s super picky with her makeup/skincare products and you need lots of verification that a particular product really works, then I recommend Beauty By You, BeautyMNL’s reviews section. It conveniently shows you a product’s price, rating, and reviews.
As for the Bloom Magazine, I’m a sucker for How-Tos, Cheap Finds, and Makeup Hacks.
Here are some of my favorites:
- How to Repurpose Beauty Products You Hate
- Budget Buys (for my #TipidTitas)
I’m giving away my free Origins facial massage to my mom since 1) she likes Origins 2) She’s been wanting to have a facial massage since last week. It’s just so timely that I got this freebie from my recent BeautyMNL haul.
And because I’m feeling generous, I’m giving away my promo code for Casa De Lorenzo. You can get as much as P175 off! Feel free to use the code on your next purchase inclusive of Casa De Lorenzo products. This is valid for one (1) use on BeautyMNL until July 31, 2017. I’m also putting the promo code on the sidebar for easier reference. 🙂
So that’s about it. What do you think of my purchases? Have you made a BeautyMNL/makeup/skincare haul recently? Share your link on the comments section below so I can read them, too!
