Staying Dry w/ GO!TECHS

at
gotechs-spray

I hate rain for various reasons. I have pretty thin and wavy hair so it frizzes easily. I’m also the most basic person I know when it comes to footwear – I never invest on that stuff. So I panic pretty easily when it starts to rain. I automatically check what shoes I’m wearing and if they would survive the… wet ordeal. Fortunately, water resistant products like GO!TECHS exist. I’m pretty sure they’re made for people like me. *Wink, wink*

WHAT IS GO!TECHS?

GO!TECHS is the first chemical and odorless waterproof spray with fluorine which can form a barrier on the surface of the objects to protect against penetration of any liquid, oil, and stain efficiently without hurting the softness and breathability of materials. GO!TECHS helps keep the objects looking clean for longer and owns best effect on quick drying, waterproofing, antifouling, mildew proofing, and dust proofing.

Ingredients: Fluorine, solvent, LPG

WHERE CAN YOU APPLY GO!TECHS SPRAY?

Go!TECHS, an odorless spray with best effect on waterproof and antifoulant for natural/artificial leather and textile products, such as shoes, boots, clothing, and handbags.

WHAT ARE THE GUIDELINES?

  • Use in a well-ventilated area and keep away from sources of ignition
  • For some objects, do a trial on a small and inconspicuous spot first to confirm the color of the material doesn’t fade or change
  • Protect from sunlight and do not expose to place with high temperatures and keep out of reach of children

Now that we’ve described the product, it’s time to test it!

But first, how do you apply it?

  1. Shake the spray before use.
  2. Clean the layer of object and keep it dry.
  3. Hold GO!TECHS 15-20cm away from the object, and spray the layer all over to be moist.
  4. Leave the objects for 5-10 minutes to dry.

Note: If the object is absorbent, (suede, terry), keep it for 15 minutes.

PRODUCT TESTING

I tried it on two pairs of my own shoes (one pair with suede material), on my dad’s shoes (gamuza material), on a microfibre towel, and on a pair of gym shorts. As per instruction, I left them with the spray on within the specified time. True to its claims, IT IS WATER RESISTANT! This is not a drill, people! It works!

On Suede

We know suede could be the worst material you wear on your feet on a rainy day, but GO!TECHS proved to be really helpful in that department. I had more fun putting drops of water on my shoes because they would either stay on top or simply slide off. LOL. It was amazing to see, no doubt. I couldn’t take photos of the water drops on the heels because of the slopes of the bow, but it worked on that pair, too!

PS: The product creates white casts on the shoes, but they’re easily to clean off. I suggest leaving them as is until the spray dries, and then you can wipe it off before wearing the item.

On Microfibre

Microfibre is a very absorbent material. I remember so because my mom would at times hang a microfibre towel in the bathroom and I would always have no choice but to use it. And every time, I would get pissed because it would get so heavy by the time I’m finished drying myself. And because it’s absorbent, my hands would only get wetter when I use it to dry my hands a couple of minutes later. It just soaks in all the water, which is frustrating.

So I went an extra mile and put full trust on the GO!TECHS spray. When I tested GO!TECHS on the towel, it worked! The microfibre material resisted the drops of water except for the spots that weren’t spritzed. That’s pretty amazing!

On Nylon

My gym shorts were made with nylon material, so it’s very absorbent. You can wear it even in the pool since the material is super light and thin. So I wanted to go further and test out GO!TECHS on nylon. Again, it allowed the drops of water to sit on the gym shorts instead of soaking it right in. Not that you’d ever want to go water-resistant inside the gym, but it’s good to know the spray works on various materials!

On Gamuza

Lastly, my dad sprayed the product on a pair of gamuza shoes. He sprayed on only one pair and left the other as is so we could compare the effects. After 15 minutes, we sprinkled water on both pairs and saw how the shoe with no spray quickly absorbed the water while the other shoe held the drops of spray on the toe box.

VERDICT: The GO!TECHS spray works!

What I loved about the product:

  • It takes less than 20 minutes to dry the spray
  • It is easy to apply
  • It indicates the manufacturing date on the bottom of the can (for quicker expiration date reference)
  • Compact size (easily portable)
  • Multipurpose (quick drying, waterproofing, anti-fouling, mildew proofing, and dust proofing)

DID THE PRODUCT PROVE ITS CLAIMS? Yes.

WOULD I RECOMMEND GO!TECHS? Absolutely.

This is especially helpful for when you’re not sure about the weather and you want to play it safe and sure. Better yet, you can bring it with you on travels since it comes in a slim can and won’t take a lot of space in your bag. It’s even smaller than your typical tumbler!
