“You should be spending as much time doing your skincare routine as you would do your makeup.”

I don’t know who said that or if that’s a real quote, but I read that somewhere.

Anyway, let me tell you something about myself. I love makeup. I love playing with makeup. I love discovering the different ways that I can experiment with colors while making myself look pretty. Men will never get it, but I’m sure some of us consider makeup as art.

acne

If there’s one thing I hate about my skin, it’s that I’m acne-prone. I have an oily face, too, so it’s a bad combination, really. Aside from it looking not so great, it also messes up with my confidence and beauty. Really, there are days that I don’t want to go out of the house because of my giant acnes. To add insult to injury, I am also a face picker! I pick my face when I’m stressed or anxious. I pick my face when I feel I’m about to grow a pimple. I even pick my face when an acne is about to heal because it means I have dry skin to peel off!

With all these horrible things I do to my face, it’s about time I start treating it right. After all, I’m already in my 20’s, and acnes do not really stop growing when you turn 20. Your 20’s is also a great time to start smearing on those skincare products you see your mom or your titas do. Your 30-year-old self will surely thank you for it.

With all these bad experiences, of course, I also have a list of to-do’s when it comes to prevent acne breakouts. These are all based on my personal experiences and exploration, so results may vary from skin to skin.

I feel iffy whenever I start drafting a blog post on beauty. I love makeup and all, but it just doesn’t scream me, and I know it’s a part of my life, but it’s not something I want to write passionately about. I feel weird about this, period.

Awkwardness aside, I haven’t fully used these products yet but I recently got a makeup and skincare haul and I want to share it here and write a review on them later on. The reviews might take a while so here’s a quick introduction of the products.

Initial thoughts on Proactiv Integrated Acne Treatment System

A day after I stopped using The Body Shop’s tea tree oil line, two friends recommended Proactiv. One of them claimed that it worked really well on her. So I ordered a set and the next day, my parcel arrived at around afternoon.

I was dubious about this product line. You will know later why. So before I decided to this product review, I Google-ed more about tea tree extract itself to know for myself if it’s really scientifically proven to help heal pimples and the like. Here’s Huffingpost Style’s say on it,
