It seems like I’m making a habit of reviewing all the restaurants/bars I’m going to recently, but it’s also a great way to challenge myself in writing something that’s not my forte. So without further ado, I give you another restaurant/bar review! A week ago, We Are Choosy Beggars held a gig in The Woodman’s Head. It’s a somewhat swanky bar in the stretch of P. Burgos in Makati City. I’ll have to admit – my first impression when I went inside was that it was a little intimidating. I guess it was because it’s not my crowd, but the […]

DANS Restobar is an isolated restaurant and bar in the stretch of Shaw Boulevard that you’d never expect to love but will. It’s best to go there via car but if you’re commuting, it’s a walkable distance from Starmall. From the pictures, it looks like a huge bar that can house a good capacity of customers, but in the flesh, it’s more intimate and compressed – not that it’s an issue, though!

For a whole week, I longed for Maybelline Inti-Matte Nude Lipsticks. I kept stopping myself because I recently did a makeup inventory and saw the tubes I have yet to finish. But alas, I gave in. And it was the best decision I ever made. The lipsticks were so good!  Disclaimer: This is my last lipstick hoard for the year. If any of you finds me lingering in the beauty section of the department store, harshly drag me away. Thank you.

Oh, it’s a good year for cosmetics, that’s for sure. Women went crazy when Rihanna launched Fenty Beauty. Renown brands continue to collaborate with various celebrities and/or makeup artists. In the local scene, lipstick formula are improving and shades are expanding to give way to different skin tones.  To make things crazier, on September 20, 2017, Anne Curtis and her team officially launched BLK Cosmetics, the actress/host/model’s very own line of PETA-approved and cruelty-free makeup for uncomplicated beauty, as its tagline suggests. Of course, I was one of the many who went gaga over this new makeup line.

I would say this blog post is a bit of a restaurant review, but not entirely. I just want to share how I found the place because I personally believe it’s worth a visit especially if you’re just around the area. If you’re not, then at least you know a restaurant like this exists, right? Ain’t such a bad idea!  Also, I had a hard time finding blog reviews so I decided to write my own. 😀 A few weeks ago, Jec and Ellie (his colleague) had their first gig as (We Are) Choosy Beggars at Kantina Sabel in Bocobo […]

“You should be spending as much time doing your skincare routine as you would do your makeup.” I don’t know who said that or if that’s a real quote, but I read that somewhere. Anyway, let me tell you something about myself. I love makeup. I love playing with makeup. I love discovering the different ways that I can experiment with colors while making myself look pretty. Men will never get it, but I’m sure some of us consider makeup as art.

Do you remember when I introduced PeraSwipe App in a previous blog post? It’s this all-in-one lock screen platform for Filipino smartphone users, specifically for Android phone users. If you haven’t read it yet, here’s the link to that write-up. And back then, I promised that I’ll write another blog post, this one more detailed, the next time. So here it is!   (If you haven’t downloaded the app yet, do give it a try. Use my ID when you sign up: thebaeblogs)  So, let’s get on to it! How did I find the PeraSwipe App after trying it out? What are the […]

A LITTLE BACKGROUND STORY Jec and I try to make it a point to see each other and go out every weekend. His off days land on a Sunday and a Monday (night shift), so for me that’s Sunday afternoon. We rarely go out on a Monday because I’m already working by then while his shift starts on a Tuesday evening so he still has a day and a half to rest. The other day, however, we went out just because we didn’t see each other the day prior. Last Saturday, I went out with my family, and last Sunday, […]
