    Design Your Health 2016: Post-Event

Last Saturday, October 8th, Iris of Earth Love Skin and I went to Mandala Park, Mandaluyong City for the Design Your Health 2016 fair. It is the first time Design Your Health is working with Unilab to promote a fair centered on holistic health, but they aim to make this an annual event, so if I were you, I’d start being on the lookout for this event. There are so many nice local products you’ll discover – I know I did! If only I brought a bag of money with me, I would have gone home with a lot of goodies. Read more to know what I’m talking about!

    15 Truths About Working Out

My 15 truths about working out based on my personal perspective: 1. It is addictive; therefore, 2. It is habit forming. 3. There is no such thing as being too fit, being too strong, being too flexible, etc. 4. There are people who go to the gym and have no idea what they’re doing, but 5. You should never judge anyone in any aspect. Everyone is doing his best. 6. You will have setbacks, you will go on plateaus, and that’s okay, that’s normal. 7. There are days that you will feel like a beast. And then there are days that you will feel like a bag of potato chips.…

Me, Myself, and Love: Discovering Your Own Path to Self Love

Last February 27, right when I was ready to turn it down, Stacy of the former Plump Pinay blog turned PLUMP Magazine convinced me enough to go to their first talk on self-love with guest speakers Katrina Gumabao, Julianne Tarroja, Rona Samson-Tai, and, of course, Danah Gutierrez (Stacy’s twin). The event was hosted by Nikki Veron Cruz, who was very cute and pretty in person, by the way. The venue, 110 A Space, Legaspi St., Makati, is right across Greenbelt 5’s entrance (with the huge sign of Zara), so it’s pretty easy to find. I thought I’d have to walk long but it’s literally just across the street. Anyway, I’ve…

    Fitness for Beginners

When The Bae Blogs was born, I thought of giving my blog posts a makeover and so I started coming up with blog series that I could follow to make sure I was on schedule with blogging and to prevent having setbacks or backlogs. One of the blog series I thought of writing was Fitness Friday. Obviously, every Friday, I’d post anything related to fitness – be it one of my exercise routines, a fitness discovery, a funny anecdote in the gym or anything that relates to working out, dieting, and whatnot, but mostly it leaning on the fitness side. However, I thought it would be ironic for me to…

How to feel good about your body (even if your mind says otherwise)

I’m currently having one of my episodes where, instead of celebrating how far I’ve come, I’m looking at my body just feeling disgusted about it. And instead of fuming about it, I decided to just write about it and hopefully leave personal tips on how to love yourself and your body more for what it is and what it can do for you despite all your flaws and your tendency to think otherwise about it. I know we all have our own fitness journeys, our own stories to tell, or maybe we don’t since some of us haven’t started on it, if there are actually plans to do so. Maybe…

How I Got A Needle In My Vein

I have been feeling unwell since Tuesday this week and it only got worse by the day. On Tuesday, I started having a bad case of stomach ache but I was able to shrug it off by going to the comfort room when needed, thus taking more breaks during work, but I pushed on. On Wednesday, I had a really bad headache, which resulted in me craving for soup and wearing a sweater when we headed out for dinner despite the normal temperature. It rained, but it wasn’t even chilly. And I sweat easily so a sweater was a bold move. I didn’t take any kind of medicine or painkiller…

Eight Things I Learned From Going To The Gym

I’ve been working out for years now but I’ve only been to gym for the last 6 months (except that one month I withdrew from it and slacked off from working out) and for the few months I’ve been going to gym to improve my physique and gain strength, among other things, there are a few lessons I’ve picked up along the way – both from my own experience and from people around me, a.k.a. my fellow gym rats. Read more to know the real deal when you go to gym and what it really means to be surrounded by people who have the same goal as you – fitness.
