One Monday, I was sitting on our bed, cherishing my beloved “off day” when I came across this video on Facebook. It was a quick documentary on this woman’s attempt to live like a minimalist for a week. I don’t know if it was experimental (for work, since she works at Buzzfeed) or it was her own initiative. Regardless, it struck a chord.

I realized I could do the exact same thing. I could declutter (boy did I have LOTS of unnecessary stuff lying around), pick out the stuff I actually use, and donate the rest I don’t. In the video, they highlighted that living minimally doesn’t have to be extreme and it doesn’t have a set of rules. Do what applies to you. So I thought of a group of items I always have around but don’t use.

I had answers in a matter of seconds. But I focused on this one: MAKEUP.

Tinted lip balms are underrated. They can give your face that instant glow with no effort at all, but they don’t get the same hype that lipsticks do. As I was given an opportunity by Lioele to try out some of their lip products, I thought of giving my fellow makeup junkies some options – 3 different ways to wear tinted lip balm. I’m sure by the end of this blog post, you’d have appreciated tinted lip balms 10x more! 🙂

Being a morena myself, I know the struggles of finding that perfect red lipstick. It’s always a mix of dismay and frustration when a certain red lipstick looks super pretty on a model but doesn’t on you. What’s worse is when you’ve already bought the makeup! So you end up crying inside while pushing that new red lipstick at the back of your makeup stash. I know the feeling all too well! I’m still struggling with this, to be honest. But over the years that I’ve ogled at and purchased different kinds of red lipsticks, I’ve collected a nice stash and I want to share them with you! Hopefully this blog post gives you a glimpse of the best red lipsticks for morenas!

When I was starting out with my skincare journey, I completely ditched the thought of adding essential oils in my daily routine. I thought it was unnecessary, expensive, and too lavish. Yeah, I thought of oils as something lavish – something that only the rich would use. LOL!

Unbeknownst to me, oil is apparently a “must have” in every woman’s skincare routine. First and foremost, I know it sounds ironic but applying (argan) oil on your face helps you minimize sebum production! Other than that, oils have a lot of skincare benefits. Keep reading to know what these benefits are!

In this world of make-up and a strong emphasis on physical appearance, we tend to become more and more preoccupied to look good. I’m not saying this is a bad thing, it’s interesting to experience new beauty routines. We watch famous YouTubers and we copy them. But it is so important for us to be careful and responsible on what products we choose to use.

What are the ingredients?
Are they tested on animals?
Did you ever think of purchasing a cosmetic or body care product
based on its fat content or its manufacturing process?
Your new foundation looks so good on you, but is it also good for your skin?

Once I got those questions answered for myself I realized how much damage I brought to my own skin. This is why I thought I would recommend 6 first steps to transform your daily beauty routine in a more natural and healthy one.

For a whole week, I longed for Maybelline Inti-Matte Nude Lipsticks. I kept stopping myself because I recently did a makeup inventory and saw the tubes I have yet to finish. But alas, I gave in. And it was the best decision I ever made. The lipsticks were so good!

Disclaimer: This is my last lipstick hoard for the year. If any of you finds me lingering in the beauty section of the department store, harshly drag me away. Thank you.
